Flashing "central locking" button

When I lock/arm the alarm, is it normal for the button below the ash tray (aka, central locking) button to flash?! If so, how have I never noticed this before? If not, why has it started to?

The alarm is not the standard one, its a Viper Cat 1, but works just the same and the car/locking system is working fine, is it warning me of an imminent electrical problem?!

Please help put my mind at ease!

ps. Battery is not in the best condition but that car has been on its trickle charger all week and is topped up

OOh,ooh, i can answer this one.
I asked Carl Baker this the other day as i hadnt noticed it before and he said yes, they all do that

I suppose you have to be in the right place with the right angle to notice it.
It was only because i was standing behind it as we were checking the new alarm that i noticed mine flashing.
Normally i suppose its lock it and go!

The light in that button always flashes when my alarm is on.

It always did.
