Apologies if this has been punted before but is there any chance we can have a special subforum for people wanting buying/ownership advice...

Seems like these threads are pushed down in general gassing pretty quick resulting in not a lot of replies; countless similar threads with the usual "not again" replies.

Agreed, but in their own subsection they might be "up top" for longer, there is some good advice under the usual tat...

I would think if a separate forum were to be created the only people to enter would be the original posters, hence they would get no replies.

That was my thought. No one bothers now because no one ever listens to the advice given, and because it's been done to death.

A seperate section would just mean it would be easy to avoid such threads

As said, these threads are so common now that I ignore most unless I can specifically assist (if I know one of the cars well, for example)

Put them all in one place and who would visit? Those that posted their own dilemma might help each other, but I'd wager that it would be a rather lonely forum and posters would get less help than they do now.

I think the answer is to make your WC thread interesting. Don't just say 'what car with doors and a steering wheel for £20k?' try instead to give some options of ads you like the look of, or what cars you wouldn't consider and why? Help us out a bit!

Don't know. I know I for one would pop in every now and then to see if I could help and Im sure a lot of others would. If anything it might attract the people you want to be giving you advice; the tossers might stick to other places...

And again, I see all the above points; just think its worth a crack! Garlick, you must know better than me but how long does creating a new forum subsection take (Rhetorical question, if the answer is anything more than can be measured in minutes on a healthy human's fingers then ignore me )
