who has carpet in their garage?

I did once, not properly attached with gripper rails, then one day drove out of the garage and the tyres had stuck themselves to the carpet and it dragged the carpet out, wrapped itself round the wheels, made a real mess.

It stayed out of the garage after that!

Its definitely nice to have carpet down when doing anything like polishing the car, but did used to worry about putting the car in there when it was wet, so there were times when the car stayed out in the rain to avoid wetting the carpet.

Have carpet in my garage too, problem is its not fitted just laid down so im always dragging it out and bunching it up! But its worth it whenever working on cars.. a lot easier on the knees!

I now have strips of carpet down the side of the garage, which works really well, with no worries about it being dragged out, and comfortable when working on the car. Also have a doormat outside my door so that I can clean my shoes before getting into the car.

Used to have indoor/outdoor carpet in one stall, but over the years it got pretty ratty. Lots of sand and the occasional "Ooops!" while changing oil. Finally had to remove it.

I finally built a separate garage to house my 'toys'...no carpet, but sealed with light gray epoxy paint AND a 2-post lift (no more on my knees to polish the lower part of the car or clean the wheels )

Not wanting to put a downer on the idea (although I do think you're all mad), the Aston has quite a unique ability to warp thick PVC garage floor tiles after a spirited run. If it can do that to purpose made tiles, I'd hate to see what it'd do to a carpet.

Imho, the loss adjuster would have a field day!

Mine has a wooden floor and radiator. Keeps the bikes warm from October to March.

I'm often making a mess fiddling with my cars so I just painted the floor with high grip epoxy paint.

Another here with carpet in the garage

The attached garages have some tough wearing carpet properly fitted, similar to that found in offices.
The detached garages just have our old dining room carpet laid roughly on the floor.

Humans like carpet for their feet, so why wouldn't cars like carpet on which to rest their tyres
