Mk5 Fiesta 1.25 Power Steering Leak
Discussion
It looks like my Fester has developed a small leak in one of the PAS pipes.
This is very minor at the moment and is just at the seepage level but best to keep on top of these things.
The leak is in the pipe that comes from the front of the car/engine, has the pressure switch in it and goes up past the cover under the belts that keeps water etc. off the belts. Looks like bad design as the rubber part of the pipe has been rubbing on the edge of the plastic cover.
A bit of searching has uncovered this picture

Mine has the leak just to the right of where it says rubber to metal joints. You can see the rubber pipe resting on the edge of the belt cover in the picture. My metal is nowhere near as corroded as the bits in this picture.
Has anyone ever changed on of these.
What is this pipe actually called - it's a lot easier to source parts if you have the proper name rather than "that long high pressure pas pipe thingy".
Anything else required for removal / refit i.e. new washers, clips.
Could it be repaired and would it be worth it or would it just be better to bite the bullet and get a new pipe.
thanks
