Hi guys

When the new reg (11) comes out on March 1st, will the values of second hand cars (more than 3 years old) change at all?

I am looking to buy a car asap, however should I wait until March 1st? Will there be a significant price difference when the new reg is released?

Thanks

BTW, the car is around £9000. If that makes any difference.

I've been pondering the same thing. In theory prices will fall, but by how much is anyone's guess. I'm planning to hit the auctions first week of March.

Cars are written down by the motor trade every month, a car worth 9k dependant on what it is probably comes down in value by £150-£200 a month. The change of reg makes no real difference on values of lets say a 57 plate car. If you're looking at a specific car I wouldn't wait for the 1st March in the hope values will fall. Speak to the seller and secure a good deal now as Feb is typically a slow month in the trade.
