Scam in the making?
Discussion
Selling my car and just had an email stating "Let me know if this posting is up for sale. And get back to me with the firm price"....the name on the email is Kent Janet (and no its not Janet Kent).
Email address is a Gmail one (as is mine), no phone number being asked to call or anything though (eg you actually call a premium number).

Once you're sure it's a scam, and they can't do anything with you're e-mail address, than have some fun with them. See if you get them to do a bit of travelling around to different meeting points.
True, if it is a scam the T

Ha, me too, my one is called mercy, samuel and he's posting me a cheque for the 'last price' of £12850, without even seeing the car! He needs my full name and address, so his agent can raise the cheque.

Hey I got as far as the cheque arriving. They sent me a cheque for £11k for a £7.5k car. I asked what the rest is for and of course its for "delivery" as with all these scams. Still haven't worked out the "gotcha" yet. Surely either the cheque clears or it doesn't. Anyone know how this plays out?

I reckon what will happen is you pay this 'fake' cheque in, and they try to convince you to pay back the 'accidental overpayment' before the bank contacts you to say the cheque has bounced.BT
