I need to scrap an (LPG) car - what's a good price?
Discussion
Bought an '98 Volvo v40 with an LPG conversion at the end of last summer when my wife thought she was going to lose her job / company car.
I was going to put it through an MOT and pass it on ..... but I can't see any profit in it and a lot of hassle so I've decided to scrap it.
Anyone know what the going price should be? (will have to be collected)
Will the LPG be a problem or does that make it more valuable?
Huge tank in the boot with single point conversion.

Phoned a bloke half an hour ago.
£140 cash.
He's just driven it away.
I paid £200 ... last year
Took the brand new battery out for my other car (£140)
On top of the £200 its cost me -
£10 oil filter £30 of Oil £25 Sparkplugs £15 seatbelt (from scrappy last week d'oh).... and it looked to have £30 of fuel in it (if he hadn't been so quick I might have got some of that out.)
So I'm down, but I've got my drive back and don't have to think about all those weekends getting it sorted.
I am slightly worried that he's driving around in a sorned car that is registered to me. He said he was a car dealer and has filled in the right section of the log book which will be posted to DVLA on Monday.

Can you email the DVLA to let them know you have disposed of it?
I did this after I got rid of a Clio for £80. I emailed the DVA in Northern Ireland to let them know, as it would be a couple of days before they got the V5 document. They accepted this as documentary proof that I had sold the car on the date and time the email was received.

Might well do that - good ideaI did this after I got rid of a Clio for £80. I emailed the DVA in Northern Ireland to let them know, as it would be a couple of days before they got the V5 document. I reckon the car would have got through the MOT... but that would have been another £35, and because it is my car the "ok to drive somebody else's car" clause on my insurance would be invalid so would have been a minimum £25+ for the insurance just to drive it to the MOT and back. Then there is the hassle of e-bay..... so pretty happy really (would have been even happier if I'd thought to syphon off the fuel though!)
Mentioned the space on the drive in the same sentence as "MR2" to the wife.... one lives in hope.
