After parting with the Cerb, and the old Vette. I finally settled on this immaculate C6 Z51........

Pics courtesy of M3John.....

Its in a different league to the old C5.And in my opinion rivals the Cerb for driver involvement. The six speed manual box takes a little while to master,as it gives the impression that its dog-legged but it,s not. What impresses me the most,is once the active ride and TCS is switched off,the levels of grip is outstanding.

Bags of power from the 6.0ltr V8. And i think it even impressed John with the acceleration from standstill this afternoon. The added addtition of sat-nav and HUD make it a nice place to be.

That is a lovely looking car, hope you enjoy it smile.

How do you find the LHD issue with a wide low slung car? I have always thought a Corvette would be a great car someday but LHD only does put me off.

As a side note, John is a bloody good photographer! These pics and the ones of his Cerbera.

Cheers everyone.Never had a problem with LHD. I drive a Hummer and Ram as every day vehicles.Once driven. You get used to them very quickly. If i'm honest, although the old C5 was a great car. It didn't have the same driver involvement as the Cerb. Its what i feared going to a C6.But after being taken out in a C6 Z06(what an awesome piece of kit)Then i knew i wouldn't be disappointed.

I was always going down the Corvette route. But as a stop gap i did consider a Tuscan and a Noble.I basically wrote the Noble off straight away,as after speaking to a few owners they seemed to have more problems than any TVR i've known. Then this one came up.

My only disappointment is the exhaust note.Very quite on idle.On really comes alive when you open it up.I want to do track days.So in order to get around the noise regs with an after market exhaust,i'm going to keep the factory set-up and go with a pair of electronic cut outs.Basically i can have noise at the push of a button.

Very nice, DRLs are super gheeey though!! Other than that, I like.. tinted rear lights are a nice touch. Out of interest, why did you go for this rather than a Z06? I guess there is potential to make this perform as such with relatively little outlay, but IIRC this will be a potentially much newer car?

I had to compromise somewhere. This one has a targa roof.Where as the Z06 is permanently fixed. The other half cried when the old C5 went.I have never seen her do that before over any car.I thought with getting this it might soften the blow.It hasn't worked yet.

Other reasons were the cost of a Z06 against this and the spec. I looked at a few early Z06,s in the high 30,s.Both the two i looked at lacked sat-nav and HUD.It might seem gimicky. But all the vitals are displayed on the windscreen.MPH,oil,revs,temp.I dont really need to take my eyes off the road.Sometimes it feels like i'm flying combat missions over afganistan rather than going for a drive.....hehe

With the Z51 you get.....

Larger drilled discs
Stiffer anti roll bars
Shorter diff ratio
Stiffer shocks
Transmission oil cooler
GY Eagle F1 supercar tyres

This has also had a tune with a HP tuner. So there are some extra horses unleashed. The great thing about this. For about the cost of a basic rebuild on a Cerb you can up-grade these to ZR1 performance levels. And still servicing cost are low.Basic oil,air and filter changes every 6 months or a year depending on use.

With a LHD driving a car is much more efficient actually you're able to talk much closer to ladys walkin down the street.

Same for a RHD in Paris , but on a cerb you have a better low point of view !
