Can't get Astra 2D satellite reception?
Discussion
I live in France now, and recently decided that I wanted English TV again. The problem is that I can't seem to tune in on the Astra 2D satellite. I have tried with 3 different dishes (60,80 and 100 cm)in different positions. There don't seem to be any obstructions in the line of sight from the dish and the Astra 1 for French TV works fine.
I am using a Kathrein MSK33 machine to pin point the satellite with 10773 H, SR22000 and FEC 5/6 as settings. Around the 28 degrees from south there is quite a strong analogue signal that comes in on the Kathrein.
Any experts here that can offer some advice?

Thanks for your reply. I am in the Bourgogne 58, trying to align to Astra 2D for the FreeSat box. Although I don't really have a clue, I am using a professional machine for alignment (Kathrein MSK 33), that has been perfect for Astra 1 and Hotbird, getting a perfect picture with no drop-outs.
I have tried on transponder 44 (10.758V), 45 (10.773H)and 49 (10.832H) with the corresponding SR, FEC and Hi/Lo voltages, doing a sweep between south and east at various inclinations. I have used the MSK 33 in its 'constellation' menu. Around 28 degrees it shows a very strong analogue signal that carries from what it looks like Italian TV. There is a very faint satellite signal behind it, but I can't lock onto it.
Would an analogue signal be able to 'push out' a satellite signal?
Cheers,

Not sure where you are in France, how far south, but if you get a 1m dish you should be fine. Here are the plots
