Brands Hatch Track Day 12/2
Discussion
So.
Did my first track day yesterday
At Brands Hatch Indy
In my little Corrado VR6
In the morning, in the wet
Not easy - slippy as hell and I couldn't find my way round with a retriever and a white stick
Then I got some (top quality) tuition, to discover the corners were not where I thought they were
I was still shockingly poor, if anyone on here was there yesterday, I apologise for being in the way.
Then it dried up, wahey !! (I was still shockingly poor, but at least it was quicker)
Point is - LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT

Off to book more trackdays, new pads, discs, polybushes for the car, You tube track watching, PS3 practice and some serious tuition for me.
Pointless post, other than to share my enthusiasm, it was not the road to Damascus, but just might have been the road to Paddock Hill !
Now I get the point about trackdays vs Sunday morning quick road driving... although I am still off for a blat now....

Thanks fella
Thoroughly enjoyed it, knew where I was slow and ducked with indicator to let the real chaps through. A few more days and a bit of learning and I will be up to the pace.
Great atmosphere at these things, the Caterham, M3 and Scooby crews, great fun; although heart sorry for the chap who trailered off a very broken 7 at the end of the day.
Thing that got me was it wasn't the absolute pace (ie tricked up caterham will be faster than a rental 207) but getting good lines and driving quickly smoothly and competently. The feeling of accelerating through paddock - brilliant
Think this might be the new hobby...
Btw - you have a truly stunning mix of cars.
Cheers

Hello- I was there too! Sharing my dad's black caterham racecar with my brother (Number 18 with a 'bishop' chesspiece in the grille- long story!). I remember seeing a Corrado but don't recall ever being held up :-)
Was a marvellous day. The damp start and sunny afternoon made picking up pace nice and progressive...
