The kind people at BMW Car magazine sent me some nice pictures from my recent photoshoot for their 200th Edition, featuring 25 Years of M3's.

My Humble car just about held its head high among some strong company in the shape of a CSL, E30 Evo Sport and a New shape competition model.

For those who may not know, my car was created by BMW GB as the prototype to the later released Imola Individual special edition (The GT2), though didn't get some of the nice treats like HK Sound or extra airbag's. (Less to go wrong I suppose)It did get a Hands Free 90's GSM Phone Kit and Headlamp washers though as well as a unique Alcantara centre armrest, that the GT2 didn't.

Current Spec:
SMG Removed & replaced with 6 Speed Manual, Full new M-Tech OEM Suspension, Rough Engineering Top Mounts, M3 GT Front Strut Brace, and Goodridge Hoses, HID Upgrade, other than that pretty must standard, now owned for just over 2 years, and this is my 11th E36 M3, and my favourite so far. Just clocked up 107K, and is a used most of the time, and has been on a couple of sprint days ;0)

Anyway, pics for your consideration ;0)

cheers for looking (if you did ;0)

I could never be arsed my self but your exhaust box could do with blackening.

Dad showed me this article after he bought the mag. He's been after an E36 M3 for a while now, so naturally yours was his favourite of the M3s featured, and in the best colour too. I'll be telling him the owner is a PH'er.

Awesome car. Always loved the shape and stance of those M3s, and that colour really suits it.

Now when I first embarked on this journey I heard lots of conflicting information on how much everything would cost.

Basic requirements:
6 Speed Gear Box (or 5 Speed) £500 - £700
Gear Selector Rods (if they don’t come with the gearbox)
Master Cylinder £117
Slave Cylinder £60
Gear Knob £47
Gear Gaiter £50
Insert shifter covering £7
Clutch Line from Reservoir, and to Slave Cylinder (Free with Gearbox) but its just flex line and pipe.
Clutch Pedal assembly, will attach to existing mount
(£50 Second hand up to £100 when bought separate new from BMW)
Engine Relay Modification (From the Internet)

Labour 12 – 16 hours depending on if the garage has done one before, but its just the case of removing the SMG Components and fitting the bits that make it a manual. (plus the wiring mod ;0) My garage "R G Lewis Tattenhall" said that was the bit that went the smoothest.

The picture they took really captured the stance in my opinion, glad you liked it too.

Possible the tidiest example I've seen of an E36. Great colour and spotless throughout!

I'm starting to warm to the understated design of the E36 M3 too. I'd remove the badge and spoiler for ultimate Q car-ness and to keep the scrotes away thumbup

Amazing. Well done. I'd much rather have the manual over the smg 1

To be fair it was Bob Lewis that deserves the well done, I just supplied the bits, and money ;0(

The SMG was cool for crusing, untill it broke, after 20K to be fair.
