What a car what a truely amazing car.

Looks stunning

I'd say if you had to choose 1 thing that is great about the car to me it's the v12 engine that's how every v12 should sound and frankly why it's the best engine layout if cost etc are irrelevant.

What other road car with a v12 comes even fractionally code to this god of an engine.

Finally what is it's top speed? J Clarkson stated it's well over 230mph but anyone got any more info accruate top speed

I think you'll find the Zonda R isn't a road car hehe

The best Race car V12 sound is the LMP1 lola Astons .... Zonda R doesn't sound bad though wink

The top speed has never been recorded and probably never will.

It does sound incredible though, not sure I'd take it over an FXX or MC12 Corsa but perhaps if I was in a position to buy one I'd probably be able to afford all three.

2.2 seconds quicker than the FXX why would you want that over this? It's worlds apart speed wise.

LMP1 lola what's the guesstimate forva top gear lap time with one of these??

I doubt as quick as the Zonda as it has to conform with LMP1 regulations on ride height, power , aerodynamics etc whereas the Zonda R doesn't as Jezza was saying it's pretty useless as it cannot be raced in many race series or trackdayed because of noise restriction ......saying that though I don't think Caslt combe would take to kindley to the Lola hehe

Because it's not all about speed?

Similarly I'd rather have a F355 over a 458, can you think why?

It's all down to personal taste although I do agree with the 355 statement .....it'd have to be a manual.

Hold on if you were offered either a 355 or 458 you'd take the 355... I struggle with that I can appreciate the price difference as one solid reason to go for the 355 over the 458.

However I would love an original ac cobra 427 over any other convertable in all existance - e type comes close real close likewise the sagaris but assuming they were all the same price ac cobra 427 blue with two White stripes perfection

I'd rather the Shelby Daytona over the 427 but it's not guna happen....... If I were offered a 458 for free I'd obviously take it over the 355............and then I'd sell it and buy a 997GT3 and a 355 hehe

To buy though I'd go for the 355 purely because it's not complex or over technical it's just a great car, Although both cars have a habbit of catching-light hehegetmecoat

Sorry but that's not true. The Aston DBR9 GT1 car ran the sametime as the Zonda R around the Top Gear track. Safe to say an Aston LMP1 would be much faster still.

It's not a fact of truth ACTUALLY as I said "I doubt" which implies it's my opinion or interpretation, so do not bring truth into the matter.

Ok cool if that's based on fact then I stand corrected as it was a logical theory on my part....

Probably something to do with the 355 being much better looking in my eyes, and having heard both it sounds better.

As someone above posted, it's much less technical as well so you'd presumerably feel more connected to the car unlike the F458 which some people have said is basically just a computer (albeit an incredible one).

Granted that does sound awesome, really enjoy Good Wood Festival of Speed for the elder cars and their oral delights but The lola Astons are the greatest sounding cars at LeMans and in all motorsport (in my opinion) thats for sure ......I think blood alcohal levels do help accentuate the sound alot better at LeMans though hehe
