I find that there are some songs that help push you through struggles when you're training. For example i was struggling a little on the cross trainer earlier today and the clever little ipod decided i needed a little help. The next song was Hoppihola by Sigur Ross. A lot of you will know it from various advertisements for programs, some will recognise it sampled in Chicance (Popiholla) and not missing out the ones that know it for other reasons. Now this isn't the usual type of music i listen to even though i am not genre specific.

Now, i'm looking for ideas as i have many itunes monies left and i'm lacking some decent gym music.

From a climbing viewpoint, I find everything much harder if I'm feeling sad/negative so I try to listen to uplifting/positive music (mainly uplifting trance but you may hate trance so any uplifting stuff).

Trance is one of the genres i listen to more. I've found Tiesto's, Armin Van Burren and Above and Beyonds podcasts to be pretty decent.

Sean Tyas did an amazing, driving podcast a couple of weeks ago. I'll find the link...

Oh, there's also my mix:

I like to pedal to the beat and use the breakdowns for full speed bursts.

You have a point. What about 'Gonna Fly Now' and the Rocky VI training montage? I already have the soundtracks for all the Rocky's.

Rammstein - 'Ich Tu Dir Weh', and 'Los' are my favourite pair at the moment. Also rather like 'Bodies' by Drowning Pool and 'The Sickness' by Disturbed.

Loads of others, but those are the ones which come to mind at the moment.

Pretty much anything from http://deathelectro.com/ gets me going.

For really tough stuff like hill repeats or sprints it's usually something heavy like Dragonforce.

I'lll second Drowning Pool - Bodies, and I'd add Oakenfold - Ready, Steady, Go and Moby's version of the Bond Theme smile
