Le Mans Classic 2012,

Has anyone got the dates yet or are the French a bit too laid back to be so organised?

Think it's a tad early yet, but I'd be expecting adverts for the dates at this years 24 hours.

Currently waiting for a tad more information about the Spa Classic (run by the same organisation) - I know where it is, when it is and what's racing, but beyond that the specifics seem a little thin on the ground, with no dedicated website showing current entry lists, etc.

Not much info on Spa Classic yet but a few of us have decided to give it a go, booked through fasttracktours, £90 tickets and camping all in thought it was worth a punt at that price.

Ditto, although not the camping bit - taking parent's motorhome and they appear to have got a cheaper deal on the same site through one of the clubs they're members of.

Yep, could have got it cheaper but Ian at Fasttracktours does those extra bits for you like book resturants for when you arrive and so on make it worth a small premium.

Looking forward to this, should be a good weekend.

6,7 and 8 July 2012 according to the official email I got a couple of weeks ago.

Le Mans Classic 2012: already tomorrow!

It is now official: the sixth edition of Le Mans Classic will be held on 6, 7 and 8 July 2012. This announcement was eagerly awaited by the many enthusiasts impatient to participate once again in the big classic car event. For three days, some of the most beautiful collection cars will follow each other on the Big Le Mans Circuit and relive the glorious hours of the mythical 24 Hours of Le Mans. In addition to the competition, the spectators will share a convivial moment in a unique atmosphere bringing together Gentlemen Drivers, budding young drivers, clubs and exhibitors. The recipe of success remains the same with the village, the activities, the auction, the race and of course the Little Big Mans parade, now one of the week-end’s key moments.

An appointment is made on 6, 7 and 8 July 2012 for a new edition of Le Mans Classic.

We're going too. Booking through the same organisers as Classic LM meaning we get preferential parking, heavily discounted tickets and opportunity to drive the circuit smile

Really can't wait, Group C, GTs and DFV F1 cars

VIP tickets offered..... or VIP tickets being used???

Need to talk actually, do you know any S1 E Types (ideally roadsters) for sale... must be in near perfect condition?

Talk to Henry Pearman. He has some beauties at around £175,000! The problem is that this being the 50th the world and it's dog is after a good E-type. I've even been offered £55,000 for my old car, just because it is 1961. Heny's are the best in the world, but have a look here:-

No matter where you look now, good E-types are increasingly expensive.

Oh, and yes, I am an invited guest at next year's Classic! Private parking, excellent facilities, and I am more than grateful since age is starting to tell.

Henry's a great chap, I used to know him and the Tassles way back when... Remember his gold/brown Pirelli Classic winner?? He also sold a friend his Lotus Europa which he then turned into a Banks T47 replica. His E Types are a little over my friends' budget frown
