I read somewhere that a company tunes an S2 Elise to have a 6 speed manual.
This would greatly improve the Elises performance and acceleration.
I thought it was standard in TURBO TECHNICS TT230 but after checking i found i was wrong. What companys do a 6 speed?

I've not heard about a company putting a six speed version of the existing gearbox in, although a 6-speed sequential dogbox is a different matter. Quaife do one for the not so cheap price of £7500!!

It would be logical for Lotus to use the six speed gear box from the Toyota Celica/Corolla in the new federal Elise. What with the engines high revving character it would make sense to have a suitable gear box to keep in the power band.

I think the reason it's logical to use the same gearbox has more to do with not having to make an adapter plate/redo NVH validation/keep the engine suppler sweet and not screw up the mounting points.

HungryJim - every time you post you just appear to be a troll ...

why would a six speed box make the car faster...it would be very marginal at best, the 111s has a close ratio box and about 25bhp more - and the differnce in the real world is very marginal. like 0.5 of a sec

If you think these cars are all about top end speed then you have badly missed the point... I am fairly sure you don't even own one an elise and I am guessing you are unlikely to buy one either.

I realise you are obsessed by the tt conversion - but i have no idea why. there is a good chance that 99% of people who own an elise can't drive to the standard cars limits - myself included.

Quaife do a 6 speed h-gate synchro gearbox kit for the Elise, if you can actually get hold of one . . . ratios are kind of like a close ratio box with a cruising 6th, you can also choose the final drive.

Still fairly costly IIRC

Leave poor Hungryjim alone - kids are our future.

Hey Hungryjim - Tarox make ten pot calipers (call 'em ten pin if it makes you happy) and they do kits to fit wheel diameters of 15" upwards...

10 "Pot" calipers would be a waste of time Too heavy
I would sooner stick with the original Elise brakes
Do you have any Kids

How about two six pot bike callipers per disc? You could use the parts from a Honda Blackbird or something, which would weigh bog all compared with Elise parts (very small callipers and ridiculously light discs). I think I saw a set up like this on a Radical racer - it ate pads in no time but looked sooooooooooooooo cooooooooooooool

You have an Elise? Please answer Yes or No.

Lovely of you to ask - Nope, not yet.
Before you ask, I'm sorry but I can't adopt you.
