'Chrome package' option 900 on GL420??

hi all.

as per the above title; my 2008 GL has this chrome package ( option 900 ).

what exactly was included in it?

my roof rails and cross bars are chrome, and both have slight corrosion, however, although black roof rails and cross bars are part of original spec ( option 720 ), mercedes warranty are claiming no record of my chrome roof rails being fitted to my car, even though genuine MB with part numbers, so are trying to duck out of replacing them.

would these have been part of the said 'chrome package'?

dealer being very helpful; it's the warranty side being awkward.

sales team at dealer have said it is no longer an option so cannot confirm what was included in the 2008 option.

From top of head can't think what was included in that option, but can find out.

Also if MB warranty don't have record, it might be that it was fitted after the vehicle was manufactured, (or after it was first registered)

Now it clearly shows your Chrome option package 900.

I have emailed you the 2008 Gl Brochure.

This is what the text says

When gold, silver or bronze just won’t do ...
For that extra sparkle : the basic chrome exterior package
Even in standard guise, the bold lines of the GL are set off by a number of
chrome highlights. It starts right at the front where the brilliant silver
louvres of the radiator grille are embellished by chrome highlights and
continues through to the elegant chrome strips in the tail light units. The
body - coloured door handles feature a chrome insert as does the tailgate
handle. The rub strips at the side and the scuff guard on the rear bumper
likewise sport a gleaming chrome fi nish. The touches of chrome form an
appealing contrast with the black used for other parts, such as the roof
rails, the panelling for the B and C - pillars as well as the roof edging and
waistline trim ( waistline trim chrome - coloured on all V8 models ).
