When I press the boot button on the key fob, the boot catch releases. I still have to get my hands mucky pulling it open, so I may as well have opened it using the normal switch under the handle.

It would be so much more useful if the boot opened fully from the key fob; the current design appears pointless.

(There is an option for the normal unlock to act on the driver's door only, so maybe the boot button has some use in that mode. But I've never managed to wade through the morse-code menu system to find the option and try it out.)

The idea behind the boot button is it unlocks the boot only so you can put the shopping in without opening the whole car so when your finished and close the boot it then should re-lock the car so you can go back shopping.

Thanks for the info. In my case, it only unlatches the boot if the rest of the car is already unlocked. Pressing with the car locked has no effect.
