Have a particularly lairy set of Mania Racing Alloys on my Tamora which frankly need to go - black for the body of the wheel contrasts well with the yellow paintwork, (or more accurately blends in well as the car is sadly unwashed), but I don't particularly like the chrome spokes and rims.

Haven't done a lot of digging around on options yet, but I do like anthracite spiders, so may well head in that direction if I can't get a refub place to tone down the chromed bits..

But, if I do go for a new set, what's best in terms of wheel size - smaller I've heard handle significantly better, but larger ones look better - and of course the tyres themselves. Not completely impressed with the road holding abilities of whats currenly on, but that could be due to poor suspension set up - soon know that after a service..

If you live in London or a big city go for 18" wheels, if you live in the sticks go for 16" wheels.

I have both sets of spiders but have the 18" on most of the time as these are anthracite (16" are silver). I prefer the 16" wheels for handling so put these on when I know I will be going up into the mountains/fjords etc where there some fantastc twisty roads. If the 16" wheels were anthracite I would keep them on all the time as I prefer to drive the car than look at it.

Thanks thumbup

I think I'll head for a set of 16s, especially if I can get them in anthracite. More interested in the performance than the looks. the current 18s are a nightmare in terms of grounding out, (plus look a tad chavvy)..

So, having moved up from a V8S which I much preferred running on Bridgestones, whats best tyre wise?
