do you mean the standard UK spec 1.3 n/a engines? or the import 1.3 turbo?
if you're referring to the UK spec, there are a number of folk on ukstarletclub.com who have spent considerable sums answering this question. It is possible to get around 100bhp from them with the application of a Corolla inlet manifold, and uprated exhaust and filter, and there are a number of exhaust manifolds available as well.
