Although I own them both on DVD I haven't watched either for a while until Saturday night when I stumbled across Batman Begins that had just started when I was flicking through channels.

Watched it start (almost) to finish and then promptly went and dug out the Dark Knight and watched that too as I'd forgotten how absolutely amazing these films are.

They really are the dogs bks in my opinion, certainly the best "remakes" there have been.

And no I'm not some superhero comic book geek, the new Batman films just tick all the boxes for me. boxedin

The second one is an absolute masterpiece, it looks amazing, the music is just stunning and Heath Ledger IMO claimed the position as the best bad guy ever. His portrayal of the joker is truly a thing to behold, genuis. He really is a sad loss.

Totally agree. Can't see how they can improve in the third one. Looking forward so seeing how they portray bane (played by tom hardy) who was great in inception. Not sure about Ann hathaway as catwoman tho. By hey it could be another masterpiece. Tho I have heard rumours of batman being killed off!

I think they are really good, not really remakes, more reboots. Nolan was right on the money with them though.

Didn't know aboot Bane or Catwoman being in it. That's a real shame, I thought Nolan would have gone for the lesser known bad guys. I was hoping for Johnny Depp as the Riddler.
Good thing aboot these films is they raise the bar for all comic book films, Marvel and Superman take note!!biggrin

Ann Hathaway will definitely need to pull the cat out of the bag...from what I've seen of her, she seems very girly/soft/doe eyed all the time...

Anyone seen her in anything that proves she can bring attitude to Catwoman? Pfeiffer did it very well I thought..

Also who wrote the scores to Batman Begins, Dark Knight and Inception - really very similar with massive overiding Strings and Brass pieces...

I have a feeling Tom Hardy might steal the show as Bane this time around, if you're not sure go and watch him in Inception with the same director. Not sure on Hathaway though, here's hoping she suprises us all.

Tom hardy is a cameleon. If you have seen Bronson(yep he played Bronson) you'll know what I mean!

The new avenger movies are looking great can't wait for Thor and captian america.

I haven't seen it no but I'm planning to now I've seen Inception. Odd to think of the variety of roles he's played, hell he was a baddie in Star Trek!

Bronson is based on a true story about a British prisoner an English version of chopper! Very good!

Hans Zimmer. Or at least he co-wrote them. Hence the similar feel to the scores.

Although the dark knight was a masterpiece, I still prefer batman begins. I am not too keen on the new lineup villains, well, maybe bane, but I can't see the movie being serious enough with catwoman in it. I wish they would stop using the same old bad guys and bring a cast of villains more obscure into the mix.

Is bale playing batman this go around? I'm glad nolan is directing it again, he's such an awesome director. I first began to follow his work from memento, which was an absolutely amazing film!! If u have not seen that one, do yourself a favor and just buy it. Skip renting it, trust me, memento is a dvd collection must.

I too can't wait for thor; the previews look stunning.

If Nolans in, then Bales in, that's always been his attitude I believe.

Tom Hardy as Bane? Way too small.
I thought Bale had inked a deal for three films? Same as Nolan?

Marvel are very hit and miss for me, but more hit recently. DD, Electra, Punisher, Both FF films can be flushed down the loo. The Incredible Hulk was incredible, but Norton has gone!! Thor...who knows, hope it's good.
