best oil to run in a rebuilt engine

I always thought that it was best to run a rebuilt engine on mineral oil for the first 1000 miles so rings bed in correctly then change to a synthetic oil. Is this correct? Wheres VPOWER he is the oil specialist.

yes mineral oil is the way to go.

Mineral for the first 1000 miles, then semi for the next 5000, then full synthetic.
Well thats what I was told to do by STR8-6 when he rebuilt mine.

Killers do a proper running in oil which I used in mine for the first 250 miles. Then good quality mineral for another thousand before putting semi in. S lot of people recommend not using fully synth including Don at Power. I'm certainly not going to consider it until my engine has done over 10k.
