It needs re-building from the ground up to take in to account how the internet has changed over the last few years, so we are leaving it to dwindle until we have time to relaunch it properly.

Without telling you how to do your jobs (and please don't take this comment that way), but isn't it fairly important to have a decent video service right now?
Especially as Driver's Republic isn't about anymore.

For various reasons, we can't and don't produce much video, and when we do it goes on our YouTube channel.

As far as user created content is concerned, we have the forums for people to share videos they have created, so a separate section of the site for people to upload to is not essential.

PH.tv will return, but it will be in a rather different form to how it is now.

We have limited editorial resource and we have to choose to use it wisely. Video is a very timely and costly mode to produce well, and then even more so to host and serve to an on-line audience. Finding good ways to monetise it are still being experimented (take YouTube for example, they are only just finding methods to make a profit after years of loss).

The best way is to use free hosting resource and little (or paid for) video editing to produce the video content, and through our YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/pistonheadstv), this is something that we are doing for the moment. And works as a good way to upload our own videos into news stories and our own editorial content.

Obviously it is a moving market place and this may change in the future.
