What exactly goes through their heads?
Discussion
By "their", I mean the general public who don't have an interest in cars.
I've just picked up my gran's car to borrow for the week whilst mine gets some paintwork done, before collecting it she told me to make sure I brought my CDs, I asked why as I normally just listen to Galaxy. She explained that apparently one of the neighbours in her building "helped" her during the recent snow by clearing it from the roof of the car...
Now aside from the fact that she probably scrubbed it off with a stiff broom or a shovel this still leaves me pondering what she was thinking about because:-
Now I suppose I'll have to figure out how to get the remains of the snapped aerial out of the holder, despite there being nothing to grip onto.
I would make this a proper rant if it weren't for the fact that I'm sure she was only trying to help and be a good neighbour at the end of the day and I'm pleased my gran lives somewhere with plenty of people who will look out for her.

- My Gran almost never uses the car, (we changed the OEM tyres due to age cracking!) therefore I can't understand what benefit there was in removing the snow from the roof.
- The bloody aerial is now snapped cleanly off and lying in a flowerbed somewhere.
Now I suppose I'll have to figure out how to get the remains of the snapped aerial out of the holder, despite there being nothing to grip onto.

You do know that YOU are the general public too, don't you?
Being on a car forum doesn't elevate you above that...even though it might give that impression!
Yes, I'm aware of that, but if you hadn't selectively quoted you would have realised that I said "the general public who do not have an interest in cars". This is as opposed to the general public that do have an interest in cars.. Being on a car forum doesn't elevate you above that...even though it might give that impression!

Really, what sort of thought process brings you to the conclusion that shoving the snow off the roof is a good or necessary action to take on a car that quite frankly is going nowhere

Erm...
I know, I know, this is part of the answer to my own question lol.I try to be neighbourly with my neighbours, but that doesn't mean that the thought process would lead me to think that pushing the snow off the roof of an unused car and snapping their aerial off with it would be a good way to exhibit that trait!
