Running in service

My friend is looking at a 57plate 530D, aren't these supposed to have a running in service after about 1.5 thousand miles or is that just 'M' cars? Also how much of a problem is it only having one key? Anyone know how easy / cost it is to get a new spare key?

You can get them from ebay but will need to be programmed to the car by a dealer or suitably equiped specialist.
