Currently renting a place which has a double wooden garage but with an earth floor. Size is about 8m by 6m.
Any ideas on rough cost to get a concrete floor put in?

can't you dig it out about 300mm, put some hardcore down the hole [broken up bricks, than fill the hole with a metre of readymix concrete from mixamate?
Put a piece of timber down each side and peg it level, then tamp the concrete flat using a third piece of timber?
Cost, 1 metre of readymix from mixamate

Alternatively £450 ?

9.6m3. £1200 inc VAT doing it yourself or £1700 inc VAT to pay someone else.

This allows for a bit for sub base, membrane, shuttering etc.

Obviously, location and access may vary the cost a bit.

Shurely Shome mishtake?

6x8 = 48 sq. m.

48 x 0.2 = 9.6 cu. m.

Do you have landlords consent to do this?

For 9.5m3 expect to opay around £60m3 so c£600. Ring round a few local suppliers, rates do vary also can change depending on the day of the week you want it. Friday afternoon is probably cheapest - not many building sites work pm on Fridays, Mon early pm dearest, everyone wants it then etc.

That sounds more like it. Was hoping for under a grand.

Not yet, just investigating costs, we have a long lease and are on good terms with landlord.

Don't kneel in the wet cement
B&Q won't have to pay out when you get sore skin, you know.

Weather also affects the price - I just finished my 6x5.5 garage, concrete was ONLY £25/cuM delivered, but it was cold in December when I got minebiggrin

Cant even collect concrete for less than £60/M3 in the SW.
OP expect £80+ /M3 to be realistic.

25 per m3 would be less than half the cost price for most producers. I'm guessing it must have been from a cancelled pour elsewhere to get those rates.

Exactly, a decent garage floor mix should have at least 300kg cement pcm, preferably 330kg, and two tonnes of aggregate; so £25 would barely pay for the cement.

In Oxon you would expect to pay late £70 plus VAT for a C35 or similar mix, assuming no part load. To be most cost effective try and adjust your hardcore so that you have a 6 or 8 metre load, thus avoiding part load charges.

A plain slab will crack, place a layer of mesh in the top 40mm cover.
