If you get the ferry to Larne in Northern Ireland, the coastal road from there all the way up to Portrush is great, hugs the sea-line most of the way up and the scenery is spectacular, lots of nice places to stop along the way and you can carry on driving round into Donegal and Ireland too.

. Cheers. Il make a noteDone this a few years ago, we got the boat over to Belfast and drove down to Co Cork. The roads on the south coast were great, as mentioned above the ring of Kerry is a good drive (just pick your time as there can be quite a few coaches on it) Also the Healy pass is a bit of a legend in it's own right and well worth doing. We drove home up the west coast as far as Sligo then cut across country. There have been some real improvements in the roads in Ireland over the past few years.
