Sometimes it's good to take a break from the modern hyper-exotica and amusing Halfordian Euro-boxes so, for a short moment, let us take a wander down memory lane to appreciate some of those motoring icons from yesteryear.
I'll kick off with this beauty.

What's not to like? Well on mine, the boot lid failed at keeping the rain out, completely. So any luggage to be carried had to be wrapped in bin liners first. This seemed to be a common fault, as my friend with the same model had the same problem. Actually, damp was generally an issue, as it had a Tetley sunroof too, meaning that the front seats had more binbags over them whenever I parked up. The damp in the boot meant that the suspension mounts fell apart after a while, and a local mechanic welded up some replacements out of some kind of pig iron.
But I still recall it very fondly ... probably because I was young and "fooled around" in it quite a lot with young ladies!
