Can anyone give me a brief history of model changes to VW Polo over the last 5 years. IE when the models changed and what the model numbers were / are.

Many thanks

The Polo 9N went on sale 2002:

The facelift version (9N3) went on sale in 2005:

New lights and bumpers etc

The all new Polo (6R) went on sale in 2009:

Anything specific you want to know?

The volume models are the 1.2 3-cylinder (55/65 until 06 then 60/70) and the 1.4 4-cylinder (75 then 80 now 85) petrols. Diesel choices are the ultra frugual 1.4 TDI and punchy 1.9 TDI in the older models, and in the latest version the common-rail 1.2 TDI and 1.6 TDIs. Latest Polo also adds the 1.2 TSI 105 4-cylinder chain cam turbo petrol engine at the top of range.

You missed the 1.8T in the 9N2 GTi and the 1.4 TSi in the new GTi. I think.
