Right, after an extrodanarily heavy weekend follwed by a heavy night monday it would appear that I am now pooing blood. A lot of blood, for the second straight day.

Now am I dying and can anyone help me based on the colour of the blood.

Heres a picture.

Go to your doctor (or A&E if you're really worried).

I never understand why people ask these questions here rather than go to their doctor.

Yep, piles. Quit the booze, crap food etc for a while and get lots of rest and LOTS of water. Your mullered your system and you need to sort it out.

Do you have a sore anus? Any unusual growths? I reckon anal fissures if no growths. BUT get to the doc tomorrow. OR if you're feeling a little feint then head straight to A&E and tell them you've lost a lot of blood and feeling feint. They will get a blood test done and fill you back up plus maybe sort your arse out tomorrow morning.

This. If it's just red water etc, it's piles. If you actually have a bloody stool, as in blood mixed in with it, you're in the st. If you pardon the turn of phrase.

After a quick read it seems I could have done this with a very hard to pass poo on Sunday, that was noticably painful.

Not dying then?

Prepare yourself for a camera up yer bum, it's not a Nikon but a tube with a little lens and a light.

It happened to me and turned out to be colitis, not very pleasant at all.

Depends. If you're bleeding right from the end of the bum it's most likey a pile. And if you had an abnormally hard poo it could be that But since there's a slight chance of getting ass cancer (South Park didn't make it up) and this is the only major symptom, it's definitely worth going to see the bum doctor and getting probed.

Ah, fissure. You've torn your anus. It will heal but don't take my word for it; I'm a stranger on the internet with no qualifications. If no better tomorrow, get to your GP who will have a good rummage around; if you cannot get an appointment get your arse ( hehe ) to A&E.

I only say get it seen because (1) you want confirmation there's nothing else (see example above) (2) if you're losing blood like that then it takes time to regenerate so you may pass out or have a dizzy spell while driving...

i had this problem for five years.........I did nothing...........

then ended up doing a BUPA medical........told the Doctor.

Asked me about my lifestyle - he wasn't worried at all. Said each more fibre and stop canning the beers and whiskey.

It went away but comes back occasionaly.

So - go to see doctor.......but don't stress too much......it is probably just the bumgrapes as other suggest

Possibly either a burst pile or an anal fissure. If it's the latter it may heal itself or you may need to go for surgery to help it close up. They'll either snip the ring of muscle (not a good idea as it doesn't join up again very well) or there's a newer method using Botox to paralyse the muscle for a while while the tear repairs.

As others have said, bright red fresh blood is not as bad as older, dark blood which is more likely to be coming from something nasty higher up inside.

Get thee to a doctor.
