Hi Shnozz,
Envy you and your trip to Spain.
The "R" and "C" items have as far as I can remember been around for years (and years), the only extra one seems to be the High Visibility item (presume they mean a Yellow dayglo tabard thingy).
The beam benders are OK but you do get flashed by other drivers for still having the white lights. You can now get Yellow bulbs that dip in the opposite direction.

While on the subject, I'm off to LeMans and have been wondering about my headlights - I know you are supposed to get them changed but do people bother? and if so whats the best way on a Griff

i was in the S last year and used stick on jobbies from Halfords. Noticed Griffs with some makeshift insulation tape ones.

One thing to think about re ferry time etc - will you actually be driving at night? I know i didnt the whole of last years LM.

I'm sure your Dads probably right and this again may be something new and its not worth taking the risk of having only one.
I say "something new" as Iv'e had Mercedes and BMW's that come with warning triangles fitted in the boot and there was only ever one, mind you this was again years ago.
Interesting to ask a current Merc or Beemer driver how many they currently have fitted as presumably they market them for a legal worldwide sale.

well to be fair to him - the old man's new car in Spain came fitted with 2 triangles so there must be some logic there.

From the Foreign and Commonwealth office site:

It is a legal requirement for motorists travelling to or transiting Spain to carry (in all vehicles) two red warning triangles to be placed, in the event of an accident or breakdown, in front of and behind the vehicle. Failure to comply may result in the imposition of a spot fine of up to 90 Euros. This requirement is in addition to the need for drivers to carry a spare wheel, a spare fan belt and full set of spare bulbs plus the tools to change them.
