Just watched Sundays episode (BBC2 9pm after Top Gear) and I have to say I was gob smacked. I have a lot of admiration for Paramedics but this is beyond respect, and that some volunteer.

The program takes a Cardiff paramedic to Guatamala City where shootings and knifing are a daily event. In the last 5yrs 500 bus drivers have died due to the local gangs trying to extort the bus company, on her first shift she goes to a "gun shot victim" who was shot 7 times, 4 in the face. He was dead when they got there unsurprisingly. One of the paramedics was a volunteer and lived in a gated community which was more like a prison and another lived in a village where the streets were patrolled at night by vigilantes to keep the gangs away.

Hope the next episode is as good.

It was an eye opener, I knew Guatemala City was bad, but didn't really comprehend just what that meant in real terms.
I was really impressed with the bombadero's and the woman in the program. Real guts.

Next one is a london (i think) bus driver, driving in the philippines.
