E30 325i Touring + what track preperation = once slick whip?
Discussion
Hi all, new to the forum, so i hope this is in the right section. I didnt want to post in the BMW specific section as I thought varied responses would be useful. Cheers
The question is what track prep should I do. It is my everyday road car but want to take it to LLandow in April. Servicing so far;
LSD
New bushes all round
New KW 60/40 shocks springs
RPM Sump guard
New 5.1 brake fluid
Oil/filters
All belts & tensioners
Dizzy and sparkplugs
New OEM discs and pads all round
For the day i will remove the heavy spare wheel and maybee the rear seats...
Anything else I could do in prep? I dont want to strip everything and install a cage etc but would be interested in;
what tyre pressures on 205/50/15s & 205/55/15s.
New brake pads?
anything else obvious?
Cheers.

yep, i'd agree, you seem to have most of it covered
just check the cooling as well really
coolant change and rad & block flush (those rads contain all sorts of gunk - but there is a mixed view that if you flush them out, you might dislodge any small bits that are filling in the holes!)
check all hoses - not just for tightness, but also see if any are collapsed, damaged etc - they are so cheap from gsf you could change a few if any look suspect.
check fan clutch spins nicely and noise free. might want to change water pump if you feel like it.
check you control arms, drop links, bushes etc - they all get a tough time on the track
oh, and depending where you are i have some toyo r888s on 4 stud bbs alloys that have hardly been used that i am considering selling - save your normal tyre wear and great performance too.
.....enjoy!
