Yes but it is advertised on the listings as a 2001 car. Not a reregistered in 2001 car.

It has the recessed rear number plate which was on the export cars before the UK ones, which would tie up with it going to HK. Could be interesting, tho a bit difficult to explain when you came to sell it on.

The advert is pretty clear - the car was made 1996/97, but then it says stored. The seller doesn't appear to be hiding anything? Get the chassis number and TVR will tell you exactly when it was made.

When it has been brought back into this country, it was "accidently" given a 2001/Y reg by the DVLA - I suspect they didn't inspect it properly, or if they did, saw that the speedo said less than 200 miles then. Whoever imported it, would have decalred it as new in 2001, which maybe a bit iffy. When it left UK in 1996/97, TVR might have given it an export registration (a P or R plate) and it might have been registered abroad on a 1996/97 plate at sometime.

If you treat and value it as a low mileage 1996/97 car with slightly suspect service history, you should arrive at its true value. If you buy it, the neighbours won't know it is a 1996/97 car, they'll think 2001.

I'll say it again.

If you follow the link it look OK(ish). If you find this car through an ebay search the advert says that it is a 2001 4.0 Chimaera.

Think you're being a bit picky there .. it says quite clearly what the car is .. if you're worried don't buy it! .. the advert looks perfectly ok to anyone prepared to read it properly.
