Lamborghini Birmingham - Fantastic Service A+++++
Discussion
Hi All
Just a note to say I have had fantastic service this week from Lamborghini Birmingham. Due to some recent threads critising a number of main dealers I figured a more cheery thread is in order!
Rather than use my most local Lambo dealer for my service, due to one or two horror stories I decided to shop around for my 4 year minor service (+clutch). Lambo Brum stepped up with not only a competative price, but also able to come and pick up my car on a trailer and return it to me when done, all for not dis-similar money to some of my more local specialists.
They had the car several days, and I got it back yesterday. They were flexible on price for some things, highly competative on everything else and communicated with me daily while my pride and joy was in their very capable hands. It was nice to have my car looked after in a workshop cleaner than most hospitals and by people who know absolutely what they are doing.
Car has come back looking and feeling like new with zero effort on my part, exactly as it should be with Lamborghini I hear you say, but unfortunately not the case with some other dealers. A++++++++++ many thanks to the delivery driver and for Adam for taking really good care of my baby.
Went out for a brisk drive today and the car is noticably smoother and the new clutch is obviously a million miles better feeling than the old one which was on its last legs. Very happy indeed
My car was forsale until today, I am back in love with it and looking forward to summer!

Great to see you keeping it, well done Lambo Birmingham for making this happen :P
Look forward to seeing it again soon

Fair play lambo brum.
I have heard different reports about main dealers from clients. One had an issue with the alarm. One dealer told him that the car wasnt fitted with an alarm and it was a cost option, but the other dealer found the problem (it did have an alarm) and sorted the issue, job done! Both lambo main dealers.
Still need to present their used cars to a higher standard though (paint work). Saying that, if they started doing that (especially aston martin) id have alot less business!
Glad you are keeping your car, its awesome.

This is there main problem. So simple to fix aswell as they are a main dealer and you would think parts would be discounted. If the likes of specialists like Nick Cartwright can get it so right with there used cars that look and feel like new then whats the issue with the main dealers. Chap last week complained about his F430 that came from the same group of dealers that a friend of mine has constant issues with there used cars that dont really seem to get prepped atall.I have heard different reports about main dealers from clients. Another friend of mine who works at Mercedes boasted that his garage will spend UPTO £400 on prepping used cars asif it was a badge of honour.
When I was trying to buy an F430 (before current car) from a well known dealer, I saw several pass through completely unprepared. Whenever I viewed one I would question a number of tatty bits on the interior and exterior to which I was always given an answer of "that will be done for the new owner". Why not prepare these cars ready for sale, rather than after a sale has been agreed?

Thats the thing though. In some cases they dont sort it for the owner. I guess it may depend on the deal and margins etc but i think thats wrong when you read the speel about there 100+ point checks and highly trained technicians. The thing is, no matter if its a main dealer or indi, they all want to make the most money they can at the end of the day.
Most garages wont prepare a car much more than giving it a "valet", as alot of the time, the new owner wont notice that having it detailed would make it look alot better. They just wait until the client picks holes and then they might do something about it. Spending x amount of money on preparing the car to the highest level wont make much business sense to most dealers if they dont have to.
One client of mine asked why the gallardo he was buying was so swirly and asked if they could pay for it to be detailed, but they told him thats just the way they are and no they wouldnt. When he brought it home, he had me detail it and needless to say, it looked 10 times better than when he bought it. (it was black)
I think dealers need to get their act together and prep their cars to a much higher level, especially at the higher end of the market. It would work in their favour too, as potential buyers would be less likely to haggle if the car look mint.

They must have plenty of business then, because I did not buy an F430 after seeing several I did not like the condition of. I did not trust they would put it right to my standards AFTER I have paid my hard earned. If the car was in showroom condition before I arrived, I would have purchased.

Q -where do you go from there ? A. there aint no where !
Completely agree. I have always changed my cars so often before, and I guess it was just standard for me to stick this one forsale after a year, but really I do not think there is another car on the market right now I would want to replace it with. Bring on the summer
Some pictures, seeing as I like to take pictures...
Collecting car...

Having new clutch fitted...

Returning it to me shiny...

So many Ferraris are sold on an SOR basis that dealers simply can't spend ALL the money they ought to on preparation, hence the 'that will be done for the owner' lines. We so often lose part or all of the preparation money we spend on SOR cars that get returned it's frightening.
Lamborghini is different from Ferrari - perhaps the owners can deal with 'the news' a little better?!
We spend incredible amounts of money on preparation. With the cost of detailing to the levels you experts can go to, we'd run out of margin in a heartbeat. It feels like we get it right most of the time, but there's always room for improvement. Any [viable, polite] suggestions welcome!
