New Doughnut Record

Blind driving record seems a little dull compared to doing 22 doughnuts in a minute!

I assume this is the UK record for blind top speed? Didn't performance car cover a Brit who went to the salt flats in a Viper? I seem to recall he was also genuinely blind.

The donuts per minute - doesn't mention whether the car has to be a production car, but after seeing a Lancer Evo donut with the four wheel drive I'm sure 22/min can be beaten.

Any inner city supermarket car park on a saturday night and some one in a Nova in reverse will beat that

22 in a minute is very very difficult, if at all possible. I question the length of Weavers minute!

A car like the Caterham R500 Weaver used is very susceptible to the lack of airflow through the rad to perform this stunt - I have tried this in my Caterham and although I have not gone the whole minute, I can mange a rotational speed of 18/min. My car has 20% more power than the R500. A full minute would probably wreck the engine.

Trying this in a Evo or Scooby is only possible if you can switch all torque to the rear wheels.

I would suggest that unless you have a car the same as Burns or Makkinen etc. your production model does not have this feature in its transmission.

This is a job for the RWD boys only.

I've done three in a minute, but jam was all over the place and I had sugar up my nose.....

I'd have thought the ideal car for lots of doughnuts in a minute would be a police car.

I've done 10 or some in a lot less than a minute but my passenger started to get sick so I had to do 10 the other way as well.

Too much power and you get lots of wheelspin and little rotation. Too little power and you get lots of rotation, but too much grip.

I dont think this really counts as the all he really did was close his eyes in a straight line. When a blind person goes for the record they are in a completely alien enviroment, without having years of driving experience behind them.

Also with a real blind person you have to factor in the weight of their dog.

I once had quite a lot of fun in an S8 on a wet field.

Not sure if you can count them as doughnuts though as the quattro centre diff makes the car spin on its middle as opposed to its nose but I reckon we did way more than 22 in a minute.

Does it count if you do them on ice?
