Paint crackles ...
Discussion
OK sad to say this has happened.
A small scratch has suddenly become a serious problem since I got a bit of a scrape but now it is a real problem. I have got a real 'crackle' in the paint and want to know whether it is a paint job or replacement of a panel.
I may really want to kill the van that did the deed but sadly I have no proof other than the damage is exactly the same height as the bumper ...
You'll probably find that the glass has had some form of stress fracture.
I could be a case of just a rub down and a new glass skin required, a deep routed fracture probably wouldn’t become visible until the paint is removed anyway.
IIRC glass fibre will take on a new surface without too much of a problem.
