MK1 seats

Does anyone know if the driver's and passenger's seats are interchangeable in the Mk1 - my driver's seat needs either repairing or replacing and I was looking for a s/h passenger seat (ie less wear)to replace it?

The seats are asymmetric IIRC - outside bolster is chunkier than the inside, and the frame is a little offset. Also your flip lever would be on the wrong side.
Its something I looked at but I dont think its going to work without a lot of faffing.

I wonder maybe whether the cover itself might swap over though with a bit of fettling...

They are so cheap you should be able to get a solid drivers side seat....

I just checked MX5Heaven but the site has been updated, and they only have tan leather ones for £85. Maybe check Ebay or your local scrappy.

Try autolink uk too. I think they make custom seats too.

The runners are different too. I believe the pax side they are narrower (i.e. closer together).
