Insuring an import / what to look out for (Legacy GT-B)

In the search for a new motor (see http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
I have come across some interesting Subarus - the Legacy GT-B 2.0 Turbo. Looks awesome. I just have a concern given that all the ones I've seen are Japanese imports.

Can anyone tell me what the score is with insuring imports (and anything else to watch out for)? Specifically with the Scooby, are spares hard to come by or very expensive?
