Calipers - Which Colour?

Hi Guys,

The cover's off and it's time to blow the first wedge of 2011 cash on the beast

As well as the service and a few other bits I'd really like to get the calipers painted whilst it's in the garage next week.

My Spider wheels are gloss black (they have just been refurbished), the paint work is Aston Martin Skye Silver and it has a red interior. I'm also keen to do tidy up the wheel arch, suspension etc when it comes back.

So.....what colour for the calipers?

Stay with Black with Yellow TVR logo
Red with White logo
Yellow with Black logo

Something else? Not sure if this is needless showing off but I do think it sets a wheel off very well. If it is showing off I apologise!

Anyone got any pictures?

Stop messing around and paint the letters on your tyres, no one will look at the calipers then

I'm looking to paint my calipers too. Actually went into halfrauds on my way home but didn't have the colour I was after.

I'm going to paint mine yellow with black TVR etched logo.

My car is blue with red and blue interior and yellow cam cover.

As you said pics of others would be good.

Oh forgot to add, they had yellow hammerite paint which said can be sprayed directly on to metal.

Wasn't sure if this would be okay or if you need high temp paint

Would have thought high temp essential.

keep them black especially if you are thinking of painting the rear ones. Painting them highlights how small and feeble they are especially the rear ones. All IMVHO

Have to agree they do look small and feeble but only the small is really correct. With the right pads I've never found them wanting on road or track. The limiting factor ultimately is the co-efficient of friction between tyre and tarmac and the standard calipers will lock the wheels if used unsympathetically. More powerful calipers would only lock-up sooner.

Hammerite is fine for Callipers. I have always used it, and never had any issues.
