Today I had EFI warning flashing on the screen but no code attached to it. It appeared a few times but never with a code. Does this indicate any particular fault?, I could not find an explanation in the manuals. scratchchin A MK 1 if a makes a difference.

was it raining or had you washed the car?

My early MK1 does not display codes and just indicates "EFI Warning". Best way to diagnose what the fault may be is to hook the ECU up to a lap top. There may be many reasons such as dampness, low battery, dodgy sensor connection etc etc.

I had it as well a couple of times on my car, combined with lower than normal idle revs. Had the car taken to the garage, where they sync'd the throttle bodies and reset it on the laptop.

Could be of course due to dampness, or a dodgy sensor, as pointed out above. But shouldn't be anything serious from what I understand, it is just annoying..

As above. "Normally" it's a damp sensor after rain or wash.

If there is nothing else flashing up unusual and it feels normal when you drive it, leave it to dry and try again.

My Mk1 gave me that error everytime it rained but there wa never anything wrong, even had it checked and had no error codes.

Thanks for the replies. It is not down to dampness as it was dry and the car had not been washed. The engine was up to temperatures with the fan on due to traffic. I guess I will put up with it and see how often it comes on.
All part of the pleasure that is TVR.
