Got woke up this morning at 4:30 with two policemen walking into the bedroom. Turns out we had been burgled during the night and a neighbour reported it to them. When we got down it was like a bombsite everything of any value was gone inc tv's,games consoles,games,laptops,phones,ipods etc etc they even nicked the booze
also stolen was my wifes car. I had the keys for my daily user in my pocket but the Griff keys are gone (have a spare)the griff though is still locked away in the garage but now concerned that some thiefing t
t has now got them.
Can't believe we didn't hear anything 2 40" lcd tv's take some moving along with a complete bookshelf full of wii/xbox games 3 laptops . Oh well shlt happens no one was hurt and everything is replaceable.
Anger vented, just take care with your security though there seems to be a lot of this going on at the moment

Sorry to hear that Chris - I have been burgled myself really not a good feeling, though we were out fortunately.
I would imagine you would be able to claim for a new set of Griff locks on one insurance or another surely?
If not get some new locks sorted otherwise if they turned up with the keys and took the Griff would you be covered?

You need to get the Griff car alarm sorted as well as the locks as i have no doubt you had the key fob with the ignition keys.

Regrettably, there seems to be a lot of this type of thing going on.

They had to push a Volvo estate out of the way to get it off the drive. I'm sorry to say I was not able to help the police with any useful information.
I also heard of a colleague at my girlfriends work who was selling their BMW. Someone arranged to come and view it. They turned up with a shotgun, put a pillowcase over the wife's head and threatened to shoot her if he didn't hand over the keys.

Sorry to hear the news Chris, thieving scum.
Hope the police catch them mate. Should be burnt at the stake. Like has been suggested already check out local car boot sales asap and your local 'crack converter'.

Cheers guys. The Griff is imobilised in the Garage and will get the locks changed. Can the existing meta imoblliser be reprogramed to use a different fob or will the whole thing need replacing?
Police did manage to get a couple of finger prints so as long as they weren't ours they may have a chance of getting them at some point.
Just goes to show you can't be to carefull even in your own home. My 10 year old son was a bit shaken up being woken up by the police but better to get woken up by them than the thiefing scumbag crackheads.
Security now is going to be stepped up and I suggest you guys do the same. I thought we were safe here but I guess it doesn't matter where you are, if you work hard and get in front and have a good standard of living some fker will want to take it off you.
All the items stolen can be replaced I am glad we didn't wake up to be fair, although it would have been nice to set about them with a baseball bat I wouldn't have wanted my wife and kids to experiance that plus I may have been the one injured you never know what these crackheads carry with them.

So this was Saturday night?... you can get it anywhere... there is no such thing as a quiet / safe street these days... We have friends in in small village outside Harrogate. middle of the countryside and they have no end of trouble....
Scum bags... hope they get them.... maybe you need a kill switch on the car somewhere... no need to change alarms etc....
