Finally taken the plunge, soon to be the new owner of White C63 with performance pack. Went for a test drive today and as Carlton advised , I got it bought. Very impressed indeed, sadly trading my RS4, which as been the best car I have owned to date (Noble included), but very much looking forward to driving the C63 home in a weeks time. Thanks for all advise on my previous topic.

It was going to be the mb Salisbury car but they were not sure if it was still for sale due to an earlier interested buyer, so went to Southampton mb instead and drove and bought their White 3.5k miles car instead.

Great dealership IMO, bought a car from then recently. Largest AMG dealer in the country apparently.

Ahh, just going on what the sales guy told me - he said they sell the most AMG's in the country. Certainly have plenty in stock all the times I've been there.

There was 3 used and 3 new C63's when I went in. They seemed a very good dealership and even though there is one closer to where i live , I shall go back there for servicing, it has nothing to do with the fact that it's 120mile round trip of Motorway , A and B roads, honest!

Would be interested in the RS4 vs C63 comparison too - considering moving into a C63 AMG estate (with PPP and LSD) next year as my RS4 Avant will be over five years old come mid-2012.

After having the C63 for about a week, the cars are very different, RS 4 being much easier to drive. Performance wise , Merc has it beat and the sound is fantastic. I have the ppp and the ride is alot firmer than the Audi . Interior wise, the Merc wins again, think this is down to the Audi being the older model. One thing that I was not expecting was how refined the Merc is by comparison , well finished and very quiet inside, until you press the loud pedal. Definatly worth considering as an alternative to the Audi. One thing i always look forward to is the sound on start up, amazing! Give more updates when I have covered a few more miles.

I bought my SLK55 from Southampton last week. Nice dealer, Some real tasty cars in the showroom. I think when I'm looking at getting my next saloon the C63 will be very high on the list.

Thanks. Interesting about the "easier to drive" comment - I find that, with the RS, you really have to focus on the gear changes with the 4WD system whereas I would have thought the paddleshift on the Merc would be far easier to work with.

Unless, of course, you're talking about the Merc's possible willingness to go sideways and lose traction at junctions, corners, in the wet, etc....

I've gone from RS4 Avant to C63 estate (via Focus RS) and much prefer the hooligan nature of the Merc. Never really bonded with the Audi, maybe because I had so many bloody problems with it!
On the other hand the Merc has been faultless in 20,000 miles. Been thoroughly entertaining when the need has arisen (which is often!). And sounds even better than Audi!
Personally I find the auto box in manual mode to be perfectly suited to the car.
