Wondering if anyone can help. As above
really. This problem has developed over the last week or two. It started off with an air leak underneath the intake manifold. I can hear it but can't quite see where it's coming from. How easy is it to remove the intake? I have a split heater hose that needs replacing which is also underneath the intake manifold. I can hopefully do it all at the same time. Would the limiting at 5000rpm be linked to the air leak? I have read somewhere that I could be camshaft/crankshaft sensor, how can I tell if this is the possible cause?

Cheers

Limited to 5000 sounds like the car is in Limp mode. Possibly due to the air leak??

Must be mate every bloody thing is going wrong. Intake off job for a small hose on top of everything that's happening.

have you been on the pelican parts website?? some amazing 'how to' sections on there. one of which iirc is the intake manifold.

I found an article and it was pretty straight forward to remove. Just awaiting a hose now then the fun starts putting it back together.

Still have this issue, any ideas? The limiting is not precisely 5000rpm it's in between 5000 and 6000rpm. Had the intake manifold off and couldn't see any obvious leaks. You can hear it when you rev then engine, just after you leave go of the throttle there is a hiss noise similar to a dump valve on a turbo. But not as loud.

isn't there a crank case breather valve type thingy that can go (split diaphragm), if that's fecked and the crank is over pressurising that could limit your revs, would probably make some noise too. Don't know how you diagnose it but I'm sure there will be someone along who does.
