Ice detector

Can someone tell me the location of the ice detector, or show me in a photo graph. I had a good look in the nose yesterday and couldn't see anything that looks like it. found the horns any where close?

Yes your close. On mine they are tie wrapped to the wiring loom leading to the horns, It's a bit tricky to find because it's just a tiny little thing on the end of a couple of wires.

Does it do anything other than put the light on the dash?

It turns the heaters on at the nose of the car in front of the wheels to thaw the ice slightly before you drive over it.

It also reduces the power and torque of the engine, softens the throttle response, softens the active dampers and primes the DSC, TC and ABS.

But that's only on red. On green and orange it's slightly different, depending on your model and year.

I had heard that the GTs had a little feature where by Micheal Fish would be installed in the back seat to tell you of impending weather fronts.

When i get out of mine in the rain an umbrella pops out of my t shirt to protect my sensative skin.

They should have,a white line warning,camber alert,damp meter,rain possible meter,and a hand that wipes the windows down in bad weather,also a little voice that says"sure you think you can drive but?"

I had the pop-out-hand installed... the rest are good ideas.

Anyone got experience with the rain-possible-meter? Can i install it myself? Or do i need to send her in for fettling?

Pretty sure you can get sensors that stick to the windscreen.

Sounds like a DIY job - excellent. It will be mine...
