Recommend a Glasgow bodyshop that can weld & paint
Discussion
It was going to happen sooner or later but my MX5 has the dreaded tinworm in the O/S sill, started as a few bubbles but looks like it's taking hold so I want to get it dealt with before it spreads.
I'm looking for a bodyshop in the Glasgow area that can cut out the rot, weld new metal in and paint it. I'm aware of the Classic Car Centre in Rutherglen but I know they're pricey and I need to get a balance of a decent repair whilst taking into account the value of a 20 year old car. It's not worth throwing £1k+ I've heard of people paying to get the whole sill replaced and entire side of the car resprayed!
Thanks in advance.

Can't fault Ferrymill in Torrance for their work and customer service
When it comes to body repairs and paint you generally get what you pay for.
Cheers, I've actually used them myself in the past for paint and they did a great job, however I didn't know they did anything other than paint. When it comes to body repairs and paint you generally get what you pay for.
In terms of getting what I pay for, I'm happy to pay for a good job to get it done properly, but I know a lot of bodyshops mainly do lucrative insurance work and cutting/welding/painting a 20yr old car isn't their idea of easy money, from what I've heard from other MX5 owners bigger bodyshops quote inflated prices to make it worthwhile making time in their day for small jobs.
I'll pop in and let them have a look at it anyway.

McLaren's Accident Repair Centre.
Guy that owns/runs it has been doing all the bodywork/paint on a few mates race cars for years, google him and give him a call.
Is that the place in Kirkintilloch? Will do if it is, they're only 10 minutes drive from me. Again I was aware of them but didn't give them a second thought due to their name, thought they were another that mainly dealt with insurance accident repairs.Guy that owns/runs it has been doing all the bodywork/paint on a few mates race cars for years, google him and give him a call.
Cheers guys.
I can second the recommendation for McLarens in Kirkintilloch.
The chap you want to speak to is Michael, he is the owner/boss.
He has been dealing with my Jaguars and Z3 for years now and I can personally vouch for not only the quality of wokmanship and costs but also the can do/ will do attitude of the entire staff.
My Z3 even stars on the company brochure
Local family business, great quality....what`s not to like
If you do get in touch with them, please give him my best regards.
