Running in new Tuscan S?

Just picked it up yesterday and wanted to know how best to run it in, so as to get the best performance out of it later on; speed, RPM’s etc… Any experiences appreciated?

Well as the last guys says...firstly you should have been told, secondly its in your handbook page '57'.

Its key to the future life and performance of the engine to run it in gently and then slightly build up the revs. Never push the car, in the running in period and post that, until the engine is warm. Follow the run in period from the handbook.

I ran my S in last year but also watched the tyres. They say the tyres take about 500 miles to run in so I started 75% bursts after the 500 miles to ensure I have the necessary grip. When up to 750-ish I then pushed it a bit further. The engine just seems to be getting better all the time and up to 9500 miles now.

Did you buy the car from a dealer? If so why didn't you ask them - surely they would have the answers you are looking for.

Yes I was told by the dealer and I've read the handbook; however I was looking for any additional info from you guys which may or may not differ from the above in order to get it run in somewhat perfectly as to extract every oz of power out of it in the long term.

Just one tip regarding the tyres, make sure you check the pressures regulary, being very low profiled you cannot tell if they are under inflated by just looking at them. I found this out after a slow puncture cost me a new tyre
