I waved goodbye to my faithfull Cerb yesterday.
After nearly nine years of wonderfully loyal service, i've decided to move on. I had a slight tear in my ear as it drove off, happy that it's gone to good home ( Spongy ), but sad that i'm unlikely to ever own a car quite like it again. They really are very special machines.
I only sold because after that length of time, i figured i really ought to go & try something else! ( i know, not great logic is it ).
As for the replacement,
, if i could persuade Sagaris owners that depreciation affects them as well as everyone else, i could be tempted down that route. At the moment though, despite the fact that they have rubbish interiors & don't sound terribly exciting, i'm sniffing round the Exiges.
Either way, i'm a TVR man at heart, & i know i'll be back in one at some stage in the future & never too far away from PH

I've driven a couple of Exiges, & they are still quite visceral & physical. I think whilst clearly lacking in some areas, Ive struggled to come with a suitable replacement. I've decided to try one for a year & see how I get on. I'll be spending a lot of time on track, so it's ability through the twisties ( which is where the fun is in my book ) should pay dividends. How about a v8 vantage or a 996 turbo?
Either way, I'll be reporting back.

I find this a bit unverving. I have had mine for ever(as I know you have)...and logic should say I should try something else...but I just cant bring myself to consider it. Why have you made me think these things?
Dont think I could go down exige route though.
Personally, I've found I love doing trackdays. I would really like to have something I feel I can drive at ten tenths. I never felt I could do that with the Cerb. Partly my lack of skill & confidence, & partly an overriding sense of mechanical sympathy.
I'm sure I won't be so precious with an Exige, & therefore hopefully a bit more adventurous, & confident, on track.

I do hear what you are saying. And you only have to watch those pesky Sagari going round corners to see what we are missing. Damn them. i would probably defect if they were early 20k's... but I cant bring myself these days to consider cars at these price tags. Oh how we grow old!

Believe me, I deliberated for well over a year about this. There was an argument to keep the Cerb, then get a cheap trackday toy. Problem is, keeping any car in good order costs, & I really didn't want even more cars sat in the garage scarcely getting used!!
Would really love a Sag, but can't believe those prices. An Exige should be a lot cheaper to run than a TVR too ( here's hoping )!

+1. Certainly be a choice of mine to go with the Tamora if I had the cash. The normally aspirated might be more controlable around the twisties and cheaper. Always thought they look very purposeful.Gassing Station | Cerbera | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
