Deleted Topic regarding *that* car advertising website...

Why was it removed? Could it potentially be offending the scammer!?

Also, a couple of threads that I've posted on have been deleted - can we not be told this is happening somehow instead of them just completely disappearing?

I couldn't work out if that thread was actually to do with that particular website or just adverts in the classified though!?

Happened to be online that night when the posts were appearing.

They popped up on about four identical threads started by a PH account created that day.

After a few replies suggesting it was a bit 'dodgy' the same OP posted full details of a customers credit card details including expiry dates, full name and digits etc. I'm not suggesting there was anything dodgy but...its the kind of thing you'd do if you were a phishing website trying to prove you had valid and nefariously acquired details to sell.

FWIW - I found out the bank from the card number (wikipedia has its uses) and phoned it through them - they were a little shocked I could tell them the name and customer details of the card and they put a stop on it. Guy probably got a shock when he tried to fill up with petrol next morning and his card didn't work but it could have been a lot worse.

Just steer clear I'd say.

I'd like to warn people on other forums who are less stringent than PH

(this is not knocking the PH name and shame, although it would appear at times it works a bit in reverse)

The link was on PH in the first place, bet PH are happy to take the revenue from the advert link!!!
But not a freindly warning.

I have only come out of my winter hibernation this week, so what link, what money, what advert? All would be useful to answer this further.

The deleted thread was discussing "auto parks . co . uk" which led to "swift used cars . com" and "swift - used cars . com" (remove spaces) as copies of the same scam. The scam has been kicking around for a while in various guises, as a bit of googling for the "IoM" site referenced in the HTML on the front page of those sites will show you.

I was about to say - the same specific subject is already being discussed there - and Garlic has stated the offical PH position.
