Help with car advert
Discussion
I need some help with my advert; I have had my car for sale for over a month now but not having much luck
I have dropped over a grand on the price but still all I seem to get is idiots offering me 4/5 k for it.
Whats wrong with my advert, not sure if I am allowed to post a link so instead I have copied the text which is below:

The advert looks fine to me, but it's a high mileage, base spec (engine wise) car, so you're bound to get silly offers for it. At the end of the day the market sets the price, so if it's not selling it either isn't getting seen or it's over priced. I had a similar experience with my Impreza recently, I had to drop the price more than I'd imagine to generate interest. Once the price was in the right place, the phone calls came in.

What are you asking for it?
Its the E90 320d SE and the current price is £6500.Initially i had it up for £7500 and was getting offers around £6500 now dropped it to £6500 and getting the same people offer me £5k
Personally looking around i think £6500 is a very fair price.

Difficult to compare prices as your car has done far more miles than any comparable model in the classifieds. I think that £6500 is very optimistic. Advertise it for £6k and be prepared to take £5750. Or be prepared to wait for a long time I guess.
I thought i had priced it well, if you search for E90's, price lowest first, mine is one of the cheapest 320d SE cars, private ads.RZ1 said:

Sounds like you should put the asking price back up then!Initially i had it up for £7500 and was getting offers around £6500 now dropped it to £6500 and getting the same people offer me £5k

True but you've also done 20,000+ miles more than all the other cars. If I was a buyer and saw a few cars that were £6.5k with 95-100k on the clock, I'm unlikely to consider paying the same for one with 125k on the clock. Maybe remove the mileage from the ad? At least you may get a few more calls.

Valid points, however i personally think my car is a good spec so the extra mileage puts me on par with the lower mileage cars.Maybe remove the mileage from the ad? At least you may get a few more calls.
Also i really dont want to take the mileage out of the ad, i hate seeing car ads with no mileage and it puts me off even calling.

ETA - You could thin out the advert by removing all the stuff you've listed which is fitted as standard anyway, never understand why people do this. Electric windows, fog lights, PAS, ABS, split rear seats etc...
