What Car? - Alternative to an Astra1.9 CDTi 150?

Great performance, great economy and in my opinion great looks. Although im slightly biased.
With a DTUK box you'll be up there with most hot hatches and still getting 40mpg. Personally id go for the Green ECO3 box, will cost you half as much as the CRDT and you'll still pull 200hp and most importantly 320lb tq ish. Watch out for Inlet manifold and EGR problems when they get to about 60k, is a very common problem on these and it can costs a fair amount to fix as the manifold has to be replaced.
Out of the box the handling isnt too bad, a good mix of performance and comfort, the standard brakes are 308mm upfront so these are plenty good enough to take the extra power.
Im rid of mine now as they are getting v.common, however this has brought the prices right down.
I wouldnt go for anything other than an SRI XP, without the Exterior pack they look very bland.
